Liberal
Arts Courses:
Medical
schools prefer applicants who also have a good background in liberal arts
and humanities. Consequently,
students should take some courses in history and literature.
A
course in ethics is strongly recommended.
Admissions
Criteria for Medical and Dental Schools
Admission
to medical school or dental school is influenced by the following five
factors:
1.
The cumulative grade point average and the course content of the
student’s undergraduate record;
2.
Test scores earned on the MCAT and DAT;
3. The composite
letter of recommendation and individual faculty letters;
4. Service in
community health institutions and relevant volunteer work, and
5. The result of a
personal interview (required by medical schools).
