ACM Student Chapter
ACM, or Association for Computing
Machinery, is the world's oldest and largest scientific
computing society. Since 1947 ACM has provided a vital forum
for the exchange of information, ideas, and discoveries.
Today, ACM serves a
membership of more than 80,000 computing professionals in more
than 100 countries in all areas of industry, academia, and
government.
The more than 100 Professional and Local
SIG (Special Interest Group) Chapters and 400 Student Chapters
worldwide function as intellectual and geographical nodes of
activity for both ACM
members and the computing community at large, offering
seminars, lectures, and the opportunity to meet peers and
experts in many fields of interest.
The Touro College ACM Student Chapter is dedicated to furthering
the knowledge of computers and the computer industry, as well
as developing a network of students and alumni to arouse
interest in the chapter.
In addition, with the networking of individuals it is hoped that
there will be an exchange of information between alumni who have
already found their roles in the workplace, and prospective
student workers. Also, it is hoped that through our web site we
can provide information, events, and connections which would help
the alumnus or current student of Touro
College find employment in the computer industry.
