Applicants for admission to Instructional Technology Program will be evaluated according to the criteria described below. These criteria will be applied flexibly (especially in the case of minority or recent immigrant applicants) provided there is alternative evidence of aptitude for graduate study.

Admission Requirements
1. Official transcripts of your undergraduate and/or graduate Studies. (Minimum grade point average of 3.0)
2. Two letters of reference from employers and/or professors. (sealed in signed over seal by the referrer)
3. Personal statement of your goals and objectives (According to application guidelines).
4. Immunization record.
5. Application for admission and $50 application fee
6. A possible brief interview Program Chair.
7. Copy of your teaching certification or other professional certifications.

 

Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in NYS provisional/initial certification in education who successfully complete this program will be awarded the Masters of Science in Instructional Technology degree and become eligible for:

  1. Upgrading from NYS provisional/initial certification to permanent/professional certification.
  2. NYS initial/professional certification in Instructional Technology.

Candidates with a Master’s degree and NYS certification in education who successfully complete this program will be awarded the Masters of Science in Instructional Technology degree become eligible for:

  • The UFT contractual 30 credits above the Master’s salary differential.
  • NYS initial/professional certification in Instructional Technology.
