 The
School Psychology Program consists of 60 semester
hours of required courses. This includes 12
semester hours from the Core Curriculum. Courses in
education and special education, diagnosis, assessment
counseling, and consultation are included in our well
balanced curriculum.
Division
of the School of Education and Psychology. EdPs 610
is a prerequisite for all testing courses. Also, it
is strongly recommended that students complete EdPs
620, Educ 630, and Psy 601 during the first year of
study. Psy 600 should be taken during the first fall
term of study.
The
School Psychology Program requirements can be completed
within three years of full time study. For full time
students, completion of the coursework during the
first two years is followed by a 500 - hour internship.
Part time students have up to six years to complete
their coursework, and then must complete a 500 hour
internship.
Each
student will be assigned an advisor to assist in developing
the student's program of study.
Students
who have taken graduate courses at other accredited
institutions may transfer up to 12 semester hours
with the signed permission of their major professor
and the Dean. Additional courses may be transferred
if competency in these areas can be demonstrated to
the satisfaction of the course instructor; in addition,
the signatures of the major professor and Dean are
required.
