General Notice Regarding Assessment Courses
Testing (assessment) courses require a lot of time and effort. Therefore, it is best to find children to evaluate and parents to interview as early as you can. These courses require you to learn assessment instruments, how to administer them, score, interpret the test and learn report writing skills.
Students taking two or more assessment courses need to made aware of the fact that these courses are time consuming and intense. They require a great deal of time and effort. Not only do you have to learn the assessment instruments and report writing skills, you also have the unpredictable variable of appointments broken or children having a shorter attention span than you planned. You may have to come back another time.
- Tuition Refund Policy: Dropping a Course
- Before the first day of classes…………..100%
- First week of classes …………………… 90%
- Second week of classes………………….75%
- Third Week…………………………… 50%
- Fourth Week…………………………… 25%
- Student Attendance:
Weekday and Sunday AM or PM classes - One absence is permitted. A second absence leads to an additional assignment, and a third absence –the student must drop the class.
- Sunday (9 to 4PM) All–Day Classes – one absence is permitted with an additional assignment. If the student misses the first class it must be dropped or misses more than one class the class must be dropped.
- Online courses have their own attendance policy.
- If you know in advance that you have a social event such as a wedding, vacation etc.which conflicts with a class, do not register for the class. Students have been disappointed when they did so with the expectation that they could miss several classes and then submit a make up assignment. This is not the policy of the School Psychology Department.
- If you become ill or some other misfortune occurs and you miss more than 2 classes you should drop the class. Submission of a note from a doctor will not be a rationale to continue the class. It is merely an explanation of why you missed the class.
Sincerely,
Mel Imas, Ph.D.
