LANDER COLLEGE FOR MEN AND POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK ESTABLISH COOPERATIVE ENGINEERING PROGRAM
January 13, 2006: Dr. Bernard Lander, Founder and President of Touro College, and the Hon. Jerry McArthur Hultin, the President of Polytechnic University of New York, announced the establishment of a cooperative program between the Lander College for Men and Polytechnic University, based in Brooklyn, New York.
Students admitted to the Lander College for Men and Polytechnic University may complete a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Polytechnic after a total of four years of study, typically two years at Lander College and two years at Polytechnic University. The Lander College portion of the program is based upon the courses that Polytechnic offers to its students during their first years at Polytechnic. Students participating in this cooperative program may transfer directly into the advanced portion of their engineering coursework at Polytechnic after completing their studies at Lander College.
"This program makes it possible for students to continue learning in the serious environment of the Beis Medrash L’Talmud at the Lander College, without losing precious time necessary for advancing towards the engineering degree," said Dr. Moshe Sokol, Dean of the Lander College.
Polytechnic University, rated among the top 10 percent of all colleges and universities in the United States by Princeton Review, is the nation’s second oldest private university of engineering and technology.
Lander College for Men, a highly selective division of Touro College located in Kew Gardens Hills, New York, combines an intensive learning program with a rigorous college curriculum.
