TOURO COLLEGE SCHOOL OF SOCIAL WORK
MASTER OF SOCIAL WORK PROGRAM
The Touro College Master of Social Work (MSW) program is a two-year, 60-credit program designed to train clinical social work practitioners to awaken and enliven the innate ability of individuals, families, and communities to meet their own needs, and to sustain their own state of equilibrium, thereby enhancing human well being. This program meets all academic requirements for both social work licenses: LMSW (Licensed Master of Social Work) and LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker).
- Full two-year program begins September 2006 (Evening, Weekday and Sunday classes)
- Classes at Main Campus, Manhattan, and Graduate Center at Kings Highway, Brooklyn
(Course selection limited at Brooklyn campus)
Course of Study
The sequence of courses begins with basic courses that provide the foundation for the practice of social work in a broad spectrum of social agency settings in the New York metropolitan area. After completing the basic courses, students continue an advanced clinical concentration in work with individuals, families, and groups. In each year of the program students complete 600 hours of field education in a social work agency, which facilitates the integration of social work theory and practice.
