
New Division of Psychology Created at School of Education and Psychology, Graduate Division
Vice President and Dean Anthony J. Polemeni of the School of Education and Psychology, Graduate Division, today announced the establishment of a Division of Psychology to gather together all of the current graduate programs in psychology into one cohesive unit. The unit will coordinate graduate psychology programs at Touro, and plan and develop new programs for all of the campuses of Touro College.
Dr. Polemeni announced that Dr. Louis H. Primavera will serve as director of the Division of Psychology as
well as director of the proposed Psy.D. program
in school and educational psychology. Dr. Primavera is a highly experienced academic administrator who served as chairman of the psychology department at St. Francis College in Brooklyn and St. John’s University. Dr. Primavera also served as associate dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at St. John’s University and dean of the Derner
Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University.
Additionally, Dr. Arthur Sullivan has been appointed associate director of the Division of Psychology and
the proposed Psy.D. program. Dr. Sullivan is also a
highly experienced academic, having served on the faculties and as program director at a number of universities, including Hosftra University, Fordham University, and Mercy College.
The directors of the master's programs will report to the director of the division of psychology, who will, in turn, report to Dr. Polemeni.
