Course Descriptions: Yiddish Language

LLY 101-102 Elementary Yiddish (annual)
Practice in pronunciation, grammar, and elementary phraseology, leading to a proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking. 3 credits each.

LLY 201-202 Yiddish Language and Letters (Intermediate Yiddish)
(upon request)
A review of grammar, followed by the writing of compositions, and by reading of
newspapers and excerpts from classical Yiddish literature.
Prerequisite: LLY 101-102 or equivalent. 3 credits each.

LLY 481-482 Independent Study
Prerequisite: Department and Dean's permission Credits by arrangement.
3 credits.
