Courses in the Sociology Department help students gain an understanding of interpersonal
relations, and of the influence of society on human behavior. Sociology majors have a variety of options available to them. Students may seek to pursue graduate
work in sociology or social work or other related fields, or may seek employment in governmental or social
service agencies. Students may also use their knowledge of society and social trends to enter such fields as
business, marketing, advertising and communications.

The student must also complete an additional 18 credits as approved by the Sociology Department.
Students may utilize courses such as EDU 201, Social Foundations of Education; PSY 102
Social Psychology; or MAT 102, Statistics for Social Science, towards the 30 credits required
for the major, with permission of the Department.
