Touro College Los Angeles, with separate
men’s and women’s divisions, enrolled its first class in Fall 2005. In replicating the
Touro College New York flagship model, it
affords the opportunity to combine Judaic studies
with liberal arts and pre-professional courses
in a supportive, Torah-observant environment.
Currently, baccalaureate degree programs are
offered in business management and in psychology.
As the College advances, additional
majors may be introduced. The College’s Jewish atmosphere
enhances Jewish identity and strengthens students’
self-esteem. Also, since 1979, students have had the opportunity to complete a year of intensive Jewish studies in Israel, as part of their baccalaureate degree programs, through Touro's Year Abroad/Israel Option program, administered through the College's Office of Admissions in New York.
