Course Description

SUMMER COURSE IN CLINICALLY ORIENTED GROSS ANATOMY
Clinical Anatomy and Embryology is an intensive six week course that is taught by the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine faculty. This course covers all of Gross Anatomy and 10 hours of Embryology. Students receive instruction through lecture, interactive laboratory dissection and various modalities of diagnostic imaging. Upon completion, students receive an official transcript and will earn 8 graduate credits.

The course will meet Monday-Thursday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The first 3 hours each morning will be dedicated to lecture. The afternoon 3 hours will be cadaver dissection done by student under faculty direction.

Although the summer program is best suited for students from medical (Osteopathic/Allopathic), Dental and Podiatry schools who need to remediate clinically oriented Gross Anatomy, it is also suitable for pre- and post-graduate students of other health professions, relevant graduate programs, and as a review for postgraduate training or licensure.

Prerequisites Applicants should currently be enrolled in an accredited medical school (Osteopathic/Allopathic), Dental or Podiatry schools, or a student in a graduate program. Students must submit the following: 1) a complete application for the Summer Program at the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine as a “visiting student for Summer Course Only” 2) an official transcript from his/her current, 3) a letter of approval from their course director, departmental chair or dean of students) a $35 application fee. All applications will be reviewed by the Chair of Anatomy and the Dean of Basic Sciences. After careful review of applicants, successful applicants will be registered at the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine for the Summer Clinical Oriented Gross Anatomy Course.
Fees Tuition ($3500)
Application Deadlines Monday, June 6th, 2011. A non-refundable processing fee of $50.00 must accompany the application. Full payment of tuition and the course fee is due before enrollment.
