Applying for financial aid, which must be done annually, can be simplified by following the steps below. Please note that you must also be registered before aid can be processed.
Step 7: Sign Electronic Master Promissory Note (eMPN)
If you are a first time borrower at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine, you must go online and e-sign an eMPN with The Department of ED in order for your funds to disburse.
When you received your Student Aid Report (SAR), please make any corrections that might be needed. Provide the Financial Aid Office any required documentation as indicated on your SAR. For example: citizenship or verification documentation.
Step 8: Take the Entrance Test
First time Federal Stafford Loan borrowers at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine need to take the Entrance Test. The Entrance test is an online tutorial that teaches students about their rights and responsibilities as loan borrowers. Please go to https://studentloans.gov/myDirectLoan/index.action to complete this task.
Step 9: If needed, apply for a Federal Grad Plus or Private/Alternative Loan
Students must apply directly with the Department of Ed for a Grad Plus loan. Students select a lender of their choice for a Private/Alternative loan for the amount referenced on your COA. Make sure to select Touro College (code 010142-00) for this process.
Note: Loan funds will be disbursed directly to the college. Any anticipated refund of aid will be distributed by the Bursar's office after satisfactory enrollment and academic progress has been verified. The Bursar can be contacted at (212) 851-1199, ext 2591.
