All of the traditional approaches to recruiting osteopathic medical students will be used. However, additionally, we will make a special effort to find qualified students in the Harlem area. We hope to be able to work with local colleges, high schools and various associations of Black professionals in order to find minority students for our College of Osteopathic Medicine. Discussions have started with funding agencies in order to obtain scholarship money for local residents who are in need. Touro College has an undergraduate facility located on 123rd Street and 2nd Avenue, Manhattan. We will shortly propose a program leading to a Masters degree in Medical Sciences which will be available to local community residents who do not presently qualify for Medical School admission.
