Two OT Students Run to Raise Money for Families of Terror Victims in Israel

Running in skirts and covered elbows, Gilah Lempel and her close friend and classmate Yonina Blumenthal finished the Westchester, New York Triathlon on September 17, just a day after their classes ended in occupational therapy. Since July, the two young women, who recently were elected president and class representative for their class, had been training rigorously while carrying full course loads in order to raise money through the triathlon for terror victims in Israel and their families. ...read more

   
 
 

New Entrepreneurial Institute Launched by Graduate School of Business

Touro’s Graduate School of Business launched an Entrepreneurial Institute in September to help aspiring entrepreneurs start up new businesses. Among the activities being planned are “Incubator” services for start-up ventures that show promise. The School also plans an Entrepreneur-in-Residence program, a business plan competition for cash awards, and an entrepreneurial lecture series. read more...

Faculty Technology Workshops Enjoy Increasing Popularity

Since fall 1999, the Academic Computing Department has been offering free technology workshops to faculty members in the New York metropolitan area who wish to enhance their technological skills and “keep up with the times.” In summer 2006, there was strong faculty interest in the workshops, with over 100 attendees. read more...

 
 

Law Center Readies for Move to Modern Court Complex in Central Islip

Touro Law Center will undergo a transformation with its move to a new campus in Central Islip, New York, where it will be adjacent to and work with state and federal courthouses. The modern, 180,000 square foot law campus nearing completion is the first of its kind in the nation. With the move, the law school hopes to become a model for other schools, merging the teaching of law with its practice. read more...
