About the Master of Science in Information Systems
Program Overview
The Master of Science in Information Systems program will prepare graduates for a successful information technology career. Both current professionals and newcomers to the field will be able to upgrade their technology skills and acquire the managerial skills and technical expertise required for transition into an information systems management position.
Program Description
The Master of Science in Information Systems is a 33-credit program which focuses on the skills, tools, and technology necessary for effective IT leadership and management. With the growth of outsourcing to foreign countries, acquiring the skills for management of information systems is more vital than ever, as most management and leadership positions will continue to be based within the U.S.
The program is designed with a core of courses in technical management appropriate for students of all backgrounds. Additionally, students will complete a concentration in either database systems or data communications, which are areas currently in high demand in the U.S. IT industry.
Classes for this degree program will be offered in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Scheduling of courses will take into account the needs of working professionals.

Prerequisites to Concentrations
The Master of Science in Information Systems degree is primarily geared towards individuals with an undergraduate degree in a computer-related field. However, other individuals with a strong interest in information systems may also apply for admission to the program. Acceptance of such individuals will be conditioned on the completion of the following "bridge" courses offered at Touro College or their equivalents at an accredited institution.
