•Warm, supportive community. Students at the Touro College Graduate School of Social Work are part of our extended family. We have an open-door policy: You are encouraged to meet personally with the Dean , Associate Dean, Director of Field Work, and all of our faculty. To help nurture and develop the bonds of mutual care,
many events are held in the course of the year, including dinners that bring students and faculty together. We want you to succeed!
• Flexible schedules. Many of our students are in the workforce and returning to graduate school to change careers. Our classes are responsive to you---held in the evening, on weekends, and during the summer, they are designed to enable you to attend graduate school on your schedule. And you may choose from a variety of fields and locations to complete your 1200 supervised field work hours.
• Financial aid. Students are eligible for aid programs, including loans and stipends,
so that financial obstacles are not a barrier to your success.
• High academic standards. We only admit a limited number of students. We require a baccalaureate degree with at least a 3.0
cumulative GPA and outstanding written and oral communications skills. You will be interviewed in person in addition to your written appplication. If you think you have what it takes and are ready to commit to a rigorous two year program, the Graduate School of Social
Work at Touro is the place for you.
• Outstanding facilities. Come study in our modern graduate center in midtown Manhattan, convenient to all public transportation lines. Courses are also offered in our new learning center in Brooklyn. We have an extensive library, supportive professors, and a beautiful study environment. Computer facilities and writing support are available free of charge.
• Commitment to your success. Our Director of Student Advancement will help you solve individual academic and personal problems and direct you to the right community resources. We will guide you as you complete tough but fair assignments, including 1200 hours of
challenging field work. But we won't stop there: We will help you prepare for State licensure examinations, and
we will be there to assist with your transition into the field of social work.
Our students are our top priority. If you are ready to embark on a challenging career, succeed as a social
work leader, and make a difference in people's lives, the Touro College Graduate School of Social Work is the place for you.
My door is open.
I look forward to getting to know you – as a student, as a professional, and as a valued colleague. I hope you will take the
opportunity to pursue exciting, rewarding graduate school
education in the heart of New York City.
Cordially,
Dr. Steven Huberman
