Rosh HaYeshiva of Lander College for Men Presides Over Siyum Hashas in Lublin

Rabbi Yonason Sacks, the newly appointed Rosh HaYeshiva of Beis Medrash L’Talmud at Lander College for Men, a division of Touro College, addresses the crowd assembled in the Yeshivas Chochmei Lublin in Lublin, Poland, for the 12th annual Siyum HaShas.

Rabbi Sacks was one of six Rabbis chosen from around the world to take part in this historic and poignant celebration on August 1st. A leading and author of 18 , Rabbi Sacks has been a leading figure in as a Rosh Yeshiva and Rebbe. The completion of the seven-year cycle of  , the daily learning of one page of the Talmud, was celebrated worldwide and simulcast in various locations around the world, including MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. and Jerusalem. The practice of learning 1923 by Rabbi Meir Shapiro, the Lubliner Rav and the founder of the Yeshivas Chochmei Lublin, in an effort to preserve Jewish unity via a daily uniform commitment to Torah study.
