Two Touro Law Part-Time Students Selected for Prestigious Scholarship.
Central Islip, NY – Touro Law Center has announced that Diane Clark and Paul Fabiszewski have been selected to receive the prestigious Susan M. Dietrich Clyne Scholarships for the 2012-2013 academic year. These students, both entering their third year in the part time division, were selected from a competitive pool of applicants.
“This is a prestigious award and a great honor for both Diane and Paul,” said Dean Salkin. “These students work extra hard to balance law school with their family life and personify similar qualities to those exhibited by Susan Clyne. Their effort and commitment, coupled with their success to date, make them worthy recipients of this honor.”
Susan M. Dietrich Clyne was a 1988 graduate of Touro Law Center in the part-time evening division. Sue was tragically lost in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. She was married with four young children. The family has provided the naming gift for the Susan Dietrich Clyne Computer Lab and, in her honor, the Law Center together with the Clyne family established the Annual Susan M. Dietrich Clyne ’88 Memorial Golf Outing with the proceeds dedicated to fund scholarships in her name. Two scholarships are awarded, each providing one $10,000 award for a part-time evening Touro Law Center student whose busy job and family responsibilities are similar to Sue's lifestyle when she was a student.
Recipients were recognized at the annual Susan M. Dietrich Clyne Golf Outing, which was held on July 23, 2012 at the Hamlet Golf and Country Club and had an opportunity to meet the Clyne family.
