Los Angeles, CA - Twenty-two Touro College Los Angeles 2009 graduates were honored at the 3rd annual graduation ceremony and reception at the home of Dean Esther Lowy. TCLA Dean Lowy welcomed everyone proudly, noting that, “This is the largest graduating class in TCLA’s history.”

Dr. Bernard Luskin, CEO and senior provost congratulated the graduates on behalf of President Bernard Lander and the Board of Trustees, saying that “The enthusiasm of the graduates is clear to all and TCLA is proud of its new alumni.”

Dr. Luskin noted that TCLA recently received reaffirmation of its accreditation from the Western Association of Schools & Colleges.

“The visiting committee from the Commission on Accreditation was absolutely correct in complementing TCLA and in reporting that the enthusiasm and dedication of the students is one of the great strengths of the College,” Dr. Luskin said. “The articulate and insightful comments at commencement of graduate Roy Hadavi, representing the students are a demonstration of the quality and commitment of the TCLA students.”

Established in 2005, Touro College Los Angeles currently enrolls more than 100 students. A moving invocation was delivered to the more than 120 guests by keynote speaker, Rabbi Antony Gordon, who told the graduates that, “You are graduating and entering the work force in the most challenging time in recent American history.”

Dr. Lowy thanked the community for its continuing support as she awarded the diplomas. Insightful words of Torah were added by Rabbi Sholom Tendler.
