Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine Associate Dean Participates in White House Briefing on Affordable Care Act

New York, N.Y. – Physician and nursing group leaders including heads of the osteopathic medical profession joined a recent White House briefing on the new Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Participating were, left to right: Martin S. Levine, DO, Associate Dean for Osteopathic Medical Education and Professor of Family Medicine at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (TouroCOM) and immediate past president of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA); AOA President-elect Norman E. Vinn, DO; and American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) Vice President Carol Henwood, DO. The briefing examined how to improve education and outreach on ACA programs and implementation. The leaders were asked to weigh in on challenges the organizations have had in educating members about the new law, strategies to overcome those challenges, and how to best improve education and outreach to doctors, nurses, patients and families.
