Undergraduate Students Take Campus Tour

Date: February 10, 2012

About 45 students from three undergraduate schools of the Touro College and University System got a preview of medical school when they attended a Pre-Med Mentoring Program at New York Medical College.

NYMC faculty members and administrators offered information and advice on pre-med courses to take as undergrads, making the most of the application and admissions process, what to expect in classroom and hospital learning environments, and paying for medical school. First-year medical student Shmuel Golfyz, a Touro graduate, gave a student’s perspective on study habits and time management. Students then toured the Valhalla campus, which included a short lesson with a cardiopulmonary patient simulator, given by Paul M. Wallach, M.D. (in white coat), vice dean of undergraduate medical education.
