Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine Hosts Health Fair in Harlem
Last Friday, more than 200 people got a head start on spring cleaning by taking care of the one house that needs the most attention: Their bodies.
The Spring Into Health Fair hosted by the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in partnership with Harlem Hospital Center, Renaissance Healthcare Network, the Hepatitis Outreach Network, and the Be the Match Bone Marrow Registry was a rousing success. Members of the Harlem community received free blood pressure, diabetes, BMI, and cholesterol screenings as well as HIV and hepatitis B/C testing.
Feedback from the public was overwhelmingly positive, and participants in the fair were proud to be able to help out the local Harlem community. Fair coordinators Ricky Kalsi and Rohit Gupta (OMS II) thanked all those who made the event possible: “Events like today’s Health Fair is what medicine is all about. And the exposure today will surely make us better physicians tomorrow.”
