New York, N.Y. - Three recent graduates of Touro College’s Lander College of Arts & Sciences – Flatbush have been chosen to present research abstracts at the upcoming annual conference of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC). The annual scientific meeting and technology exposition is the leading event in the clinical laboratory profession, attracting nearly 20,000 participants and 700 exhibitors from more than 100 countries. The 2007 conference will be held at the San Diego Convention Center from July 15th through the 19th.

New York, N.Y. – Alexander Mendelsohn, a junior at the Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School in Livingston, N.J., won first prize at the third annual Jacob Goldfinger Memorial Mathematics Contest at Touro’s Lander College for Men (LCM). The contest was created to broaden and enrich Yeshiva high school students\' knowledge of mathematics and enhance their mathematical creativity.

New York, N.Y. – Nine outstanding high school students from around the country were selected to receive the prestigious Sarah Rivkah and Dr. Bernard Lander zt”l Scholarship, presented jointly by Touro College and the National Conference of Synagogue Youth (NCSY), the international youth arm of the Orthodox Union. The scholarships, named in memory of Touro’s Founding President Dr. Bernard Lander ztz”l and his wife Sarah Rivkah, were announced by Touro President Dr. Alan Kadish  and Orthodox Union President Martin Nachimson.

New York, N.Y. – Approximately 200 students from 13 Jewish high schools around the Tri-State area participated in the annual Jewish Education Project-Lander College Yeshiva Science Olympiad. The team from Torah Academy of Bergen County won first place in the competition with the highest aggregate score in 12 events, with Salanter Akiba Riverdale Academy (SAR), Ramaz and North Shore Hebrew Academy rounding out the top four spots.

New York, N.Y. – The Touro College and University System conferred an honorary doctorate to Dr. Jay Sexter, the provost, CEO and vice president for academic affairs for the Harlem and Middletown, New York campuses of the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (TouroCOM), at the 41st annual commencement exercises of the Lander Colleges at Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center. Dr. Sexter, who is retiring at the end of the 2015 academic year, led the effort to create Touro’s four schools of osteopathic medicine, which distinguished the institution as a national leader in physician education.
