Alumnus Dr. Guajardo is Reshaping the Narrative Around Forensic Pathology

For forensic pathologist Andrew R. Guajardo, M.D. '13, the biggest misconception about his field is that it’s solitary or antisocial. As the chief medical examiner of Dutchess County in the Hudson Valley, Dr. Guajardo said he interacts with everyone—his patients’ families and partners, their former physicians, law enforcement officers conducting investigations, and attorneys involved in prosecuting crime or settling civil matters.
