New York - N.Y. –Touro College School of Health Sciences’ (SHS) Doctor of Physical Therapy program held annual White Coat ceremonies in October at both its Manhattan and Bay Shore campuses.  The ceremonies marked the transition for the DPT Class of 2016 from the classroom to the clinic, as students were about to embark on their first clinical experiences after spending three semesters in the classroom.

Touro College School of Health Sciences (SHS) hosted its 2nd Annual Symposium for Inter Professional Education on March 19 at Congregation Sons of Israel in Woodmere, L.I. More than 350 students from Touro College SHS, as well as faculty, and health care workers from the community, discussed the critical need for inter professional collaboration in contemporary health care delivery. This year’s theme, “Destination Home,” focused on the importance of coordinated care for patients when they are discharged from hospitals to their own homes.

New York, N.Y. –Matthew Stamm, of Roslyn, N.Y., was named  recipient of the Maimonides Award from Touro College School of Health Sciences during the School’s commencement ceremony at the Tilles Performing Arts Center on Long Island.  Stamm, who completed the School’s Physician Assistant (PA) Program in Manhattan, was one of nine graduates selected to receive the Award for demonstrating the highest professional ideals of a health sciences practitioner.
