Central Islip, N.Y.–The Law Center’s 2016 Commencement speaker is Mark C. Zauderer, a high-profile litigator and name partner at the Manhattan boutique firm Flemming Zulack Williamson Zauderer LLP. Additionally, Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams will receive the degree of Doctor of Laws honoris causa at this year’s commencement ceremony. Touro Law Center’s 2016 Commencement is Sunday, May 29 at noon, at the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts in Greenvale, Long Island, NY.

Central Islip, NY –Touro Law Center is pleased to announce two newly created $25,000 scholarships for Touro Law students: the Tsunis Family Scholarship which will support students interested in land use and/or real estate law and the Joseph M. Marger ’89 Scholarship which will support students interested in corporate or business law. These endowed scholarships add to more than $1M in new student scholarships raised over the past year, including four in the past six weeks.

Central Islip, N.Y. – Touro Law Center Dean Patricia Salkin is pleased to announce that third-year student Monsurat Abedbanjo has been named a 2015 Ruth Whitehead Whaley Scholarship Recipient by the Association of Black Women Attorneys. Monsurat is one of only two law students to receive this honor.

Central Islip, NY – Touro Law Center Dean Patricia Salkin is pleased to announce several new scholarships for students totaling $55K. Touro Law adjunct professors Ilene Sherwyn Cooper and her husband Mitchell J. Cooper have created the Dr. and Mrs. Albert Sherwyn and Joseph Cooper Scholarship Fund. This endowed scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student with a grade point average of at least 3.5. Additional money has been awarded to Touro Law for scholarships through the Milton Handler Foundation and three smaller foundations. These recent scholarship donations bring the total scholarship monies raised in the past two years to $1.6M.
