Rabbi Reuven Boshnack wears many hats. Rabbi, psychologist, college professor, author, father and husband are some of his official titles. His unofficial ones include spiritual mentor, gifted Torah educator, guitarist, chicken cutlet chef and tour guide. “Really though,” he says, about his current position as an educator for the Orthodox Union’s JLIC (Jewish Learning Initiative on Campus) at Brooklyn College, “My wife, Shira, and I see ourselves as being uniquely privileged to service one of the most dynamic and diverse communities anywhere.”

Her college tour came to a complete halt when Elisheva Swartz Friedman arrived at The Lander College for Women. “Initially, I was struck by the warmth of the professors and the students,” say Swartz Friedman, who hails from Silver Spring, Md. “Later I realized the quality of education was excellent, too.”

June 27, 2013 – In a festive and intimate celebration, 14 students from Touro College’s Lander College of Arts & Sciences (LAS), Lander College for Women (LCW), Lander College for Men (LCM), and New York School of Career and Applied Studies (NYSCAS) were inducted into the college’s chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, an honor society for those studying history.

Since 2010, Touro College has increasingly placed its prelaw students at top-rated law schools. In the last three years, seven of its students have been accepted at Harvard Law School. In 2013 alone, seven students gained admission to law schools ranked in the top 21 in the country by U.S. News and World Report.
