Technical Standards

Technical standards for admission delineate the non-academic abilities considered essential for students to achieve the competency levels mandatory for completion of the Doctor of Pharmacy degree, as defined by Touro College of Pharmacy and ACPE. It is expected that all admitted students will demonstrate the following:

Possess the coordination, motor skills, and visual skills required to function in a clinical and laboratory setting where he/she will engage in pharmaceutical preparations and utilize instruments such as microscopes and balances.
Possess sufficient visual and auditory perception and the mental capacity to assimilate technically detailed and complex information presented in lectures, class discussions, and clinical settings.
Possess sufficient communication skills to present information accurately and effectively to faculty, classmates, other health care providers, and patients.

Demonstrating that they possess these skills and abilities is mandatory for all students invited to an interview.
