Public Health Program goes Public On the Radio
Dr. Joseph Indelicato, director of the Public Health program, has begun airing his views about today’s health issues that impact everyday life on “Plugged-In to Long Island,” a Sunday morning show with Matte Wolfe on 102.3 WBAB and 106.1 WBLI. So far, the radio shows have focused on issues dealing with bioterrorism, post 9/11 syndrome, West Nile virus, effects of violent television on society, hurricane preparedness, obesity, winter emergencies, choosing the right college and coping with leaving home.
Led by Dr. Indelicato, the Master of Science program in public health focuses on how to consult and protect the health of the public - from neighborhoods to entire countries - affected by disease outbreaks, natural disasters and other healthcare situations. The 50-credit graduate degree is ideal for allied health professionals, attorneys, clinic and hospital personnel, county officials, first responders, government officials, mental health care professionals, nurses and physicians.
Courses are offered at the Bay Shore Campus, the main site of the School of Health Sciences. Classes are offered evenings and Sunday to accommodate the needs of working professionals. For more information about the program or other health science programs call 866 TOURO-4-U or visit www.touro.edu.
