Accreditation

The OTA Program is registered with the Division of Professional Education of the New York State Education Department. It is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) located at 4720 Montgomery Lane, Bethesda, MD. 20814-3425, (301) 652-2682. Graduates are eligible to take the national certification exam offered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) and are eligible to apply for occupational therapy assistant state professional licenses/certifications. New York State requires OTAs to be certified by the Commissioner of Education.
