FINANCIAL INFORMATION


TUITION, FEES, AND EXPENSES

Students are admitted to the program on a full-time basis. This requires a major commitment of both time and resources. Tuition and fees for the 2007-2008 academic year are as follows:



Full-time tuition, per semester $10,000
(full 32-month program tuition = $60,000)
Per credit tuition $835
Application fee (non-refundable) $50
Tuition deposit (non-refundable, applied to 1st semester tuition) $500
Administration fee, per semester $100
Student activity fee, per annum $40
Malpractice insurance fee, per annum $80
Laboratory fee, per semester $100
Graduation fee $200
Late registration fee $50
Returned check fee $40
Transcript fee $10

Tuition and fees are subject to change annually. The Touro College Board of Trustees reserves the right to change the fee schedule without prior written notice.

Tuition Refund Schedule
After following the proper withdrawal procedure for students withdrawing from ALL classes, the following refund schedule will apply:
Before the opening of class 100% of tuition
During the first week of classes 90% of tuition
During the second week of classes 75% of tuition
During the third week of classes 50% of tuition
During the fourth week of classes 25% of tuition
After the fourth week of classes No Refund
Additional Annual Expenses
Annual personal expenses for books, travel, housing, food, uniforms, supplies, and other items will vary greatly from individual to individual. All students are required to carry health insurance. Travel and room and board for clinical assignments will affect student cost. Students are encouraged to meet with a financial aid counselor early in the application process to plan for these expenses.

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT SCHOLARSHIPS
In addition to the financial aid opportunities listed in the School of Health Sciences bulletin, there are avenues of financial aid specific to PA students.

The American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) through the Physician Assistant Foundation (PAF) offers $2,000 - $5,000 scholarships on an annual basis. The scholarship is based on financial need and dedication to the physician assistant profession. To obtain an application, write to:

National Health Service Corps Programs offered through the National Health Service Corps (NHSC), a component of the U.S. Public Health Service’s Bureau of Primary Health Care, recruits health care professionals for communities that lack adequate access to primary care services. The highly competitive scholarship offers payment of tuition and fees, books, supplies, and equipment for up to four years of education, as well as a monthly stipend. For each year of support, scholarship recipients must serve one year in a health professional shortage area (HPSA) on completion of training. Minimum service obligation is two years. Contact:

New York State Higher Education Services Corporation offers the New York State Regents Professional Opportunity Scholarships to students pursuing a career in the PA profession. Economically disadvantaged students who are members of a minority group historically underrepresented in the profession, and who are New York State residents are eligible. Awards range from $1000 to $5000 per year. The scholarship is accompanied by a service obligation. Contact:

The New York State Society of Physician Assistants (NYSSPA) offers scholarships to student members on an annual basis. The awards are approximately $500 to $1,000 depending upon financial need, academic standing, community involvement, and total number of applications as determined by the Scholarship Committee.
