SHS: Physical Therapy
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program Started in January 2004!
Touro College now offers both entry-level and post-professional Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degrees. The DPT degree programs are the first doctoral program offered by the Main and Bay Shore campuses of Touro College.
Applications are now being accepted for the entry-level DPT program for admission in September 2005. The entry-level DPT program is the only DPT program in New York City to accept qualified students after completing 90 college credits. The DPT program is proud of its faculty, which boasts the most board certified clinical specialists (neurology, orthopedics, pediatrics, and hand therapy) of any PT program in the northern United States. The entry-level DPT program is offered at both the Manhattan and Bay Shore campuses.
Designed for the working professional, the post-professional DPT program features nationally and internationally known expert clinicians as faculty and prepares graduates for board certification and leadership within the profession. The post-professional (transitional) DPT program offers clinical specialty tracks in orthopedics, neurology, and geriatrics. Courses are held at the Bay Shore and Manhattan campuses. Enrollment into the post-professional DPT program, based on the Bay Shore campus, began in January 2004.
