Employment

A recent survey of New York State Physical Therapy Graduates reports that all graduates, who have pursued employment, find employment within a reasonable amount of time. The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the New York State Academic Administrators Special Interest Group (AASIG) recently reported an improved employment outlook as compared to 1999.

The 2002 entry-level Physical Therapy Program Graduate Survey is of particular note, and special thanks to those Touro College alumni who participated in this poll. The results were very positive and were of invaluable assistance in our reaccredidation efforts.

Touro classes from 1999-2001 were surveyed and the following are some of the results:

Employed	97%
Had job within 3 months of graduation	90%
Held senior positions	17%
Took continuing education courses	71%
Served as clinical instructor	35%
Was currently an APTA Member	66%
Performed Community Service since graduation	23%
