Natalia Aleksiun is an associate professor of modern Jewish history at the Touro College Graduate School of Jewish Studies. She received both master’s and doctoral degrees in history from Warsaw University, and a second Ph.D. in modern Jewish history at New York University’s Skirball Department of Hebrew and Judaic Studies. During the course of her graduate studies, she was a Junior Fulbright Fellow at NYU and a Lady Davis fellow at Hebrew University and her dissertation won the Polish Prime Minister’s Award for doctoral students. Dr. Aleksiun’s work has been published in Yad Vashem Studies, Polish Review, Dapim, East European Jewish Affairs, Studies in Contemporary Jewry, Polin, Gal Ed, East European Societies and Politics and German History.
