Medicine

The Medical Honors Pathway is an intensive and rewarding curriculum that leads to a bachelor's degree from Touro and a medical degree from New York Medical College, provided you meet, and continue to meet, all requirements. As part of the program you will be mentored and counseled by Lander College and NYMC faculty and staff.

Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine

A Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) is a fully licensed physician who can practice in every medical specialty. DOs practice a whole-person approach to medicine, focused on looking beyond symptoms to understand how lifestyle and environmental factors impact a patient’s well-being.

Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (TouroCOM) is committed to training physicians with a focus on practicing in underserved communities, and to increasing the number of underrepresented minorities in medicine. Clinical education is provided through affiliated teaching hospitals and medical centers that provide a wide range of clinical exposure. Our students and faculty provide health screenings and patient education in the community and offer mentoring for high school and college students to prepare them for health professions. Osteopathic physicians practice the full scope of medicine and all medical specialties from pediatrics to geriatrics, sports medicine to trauma surgery, with a focus on health promotion and disease prevention.

Detailed requirements can be found on the TouroCOM website.
