Assessment Literacy for AI-Enhanced Assignments and Holistic Learning
Keynote Speaker
Natasha Jankowski, Ph.D.
Dr. Natasha Jankowski is the Executive Director of the Center for Advancing Student Learning at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the former Executive Director of the National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment (NILOA). Under her leadership, NILOA was the proud recipient of the ACPA Contribution to Higher Education award. Her latest book is Foundations of Assessment: From Theory to Practice (Routledge, 2025).
Dr. Jankowski will focus on designing assignments and tests that are pedagogically sound, technologically responsive, and inclusive of non-cognitive skill development. This keynote will explore how to align assessment design with learning outcomes that include persistence, empathy, and collaboration, while leveraging AI tools to support formative feedback and student engagement. Through practical examples and design frameworks, this session will equip educators with strategies to ensure that assessment remains a tool for learning, not just measurement, in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
