Six Essential Academic Writing Skills Workshop: Session I: Organization

This four-session academic writing skills workshop emphasizes:

• organization
• word choice
• academic tone
• sentence structure
• paragraph structure
• basic rules of Standard American English grammar

Students may select as many workshops as they wish to attend or opt to participate in all five sessions. Each one-hour session focuses on one or more essential skills using PowerPoint slides as the instructional tool and includes a comprehensive overview of the skills covered, instructional handouts and practice exercises. All sessions will be offered by staff from the Graduate Division Writing Center.
