Learn in Vienna and Prague
July 28 – August 6, 2026
Join Touro University/Lander College for Men for an educational and exciting visit to Prague, Vienna, and surrounding areas. Explore Jewish history, attend lectures, and earn three college credits. Space is limited, reserve your spot today!
The program will run from July 28 to August 6, 2026, and will be led by distinguished leadership and faculty members Shnayer Leiman, PhD; Simcha Fishbane, PhD; Israel Singer, PhD; Dean Stanley Boylan, PhD, and Dean Herbert Ratner, MS.
Your days will include engaging and stimulating discussions focusing on European Jewish history and will feature exciting excursions and activities in the company of expert guides.
Sample Itinerary:
- In Prague, visit the Charles Bridge, the Castle, and the Jewish quarter with all its synagogues, including the Alt Neu Synagogue, the resting place of many sages like the Maharal, the Tosfos Yom Tov, the Noda B’Yehuda, and more.
- In Vienna, visit the Jewish Museum, spanning 500 years of Jewish history, as well as ancient synagogues, the Parliament Building, the State Opera House, the Ringstrasse, and the Schoenbrunn Palace.
- Visit communities with a rich Jewish history, like Boskowitz in the Czech Republic, where we will visit the Jewish street; the Theresienstadt concentration camp; and Bratislava, Slovakia, for the resting place of the Chatam Sofer.
- Visit to a kosher winery.

Airfare to and from Europe is NOT included.
Cost:
- Base price: $3,200 for current students and $4,000 for others, including Touro faculty and staff and married couples.
- Early-bird price (for students only): $2,900 (register by March 30, 2026).
- Deposit: A non-refundable $500 deposit is required to reserve your spot.
- Costs can be paid in full up front or in up to four installments.
- Full payment is due by May 15, 2026.
- Financial aid is available, subject to availability.
Cancellation Policy:
Touro reserves the right to cancel the program and refund participants for issues related to any force majeure, including but not limited to, hostilities, civil strife, Covid-19 or any other pandemic, instability, war, mandate, or practice that could prevent participants to enter European countries or achieve the full vision of the planned experience.
Current conditions, travel requirements, and otherwise are as follows:
- Each Participant must sign a Waiver of Liability.
- Participant must purchase their own flight to Prague and return from Vienna.
- Full refunds can be requested up to 90 days before the trip (but all registration fees are non-refundable), thereafter only a limited percentage of the cost is refundable.

About the Faculty
- Dr. Shnayer Leiman, Ph.D. is a distinguished professor of Jewish history and literature at Touro University Graduate School of Jewish Studies.
- Israel Singer, Ph.D. is Vice President of International Affairs at Touro University and a professor of contemporary Jewry.
- Dean Stanley Boylan, Ph.D. is Vice President of Undergraduate Education and Dean of Faculties at Touro University.
- Dean Herb Ratner is Associate Dean for Administration and Advisement at Lander College for Men.
- Karen Sutton, Ph.D is an associate professor at Lander College for Women and Director of the honors program.
- Dean Herb Ratner, M.A. is Associate Dean at Lander College for Men.
- Esther Boylan, M.A. is an instructor and mentor at Lander College for Women.
