Volunteer/Internship Program

The Touro University Internal Audit Volunteer/Internship program is one of America's most ambitious programs for audit stewardship and public service. The purpose of the Touro University Volunteer/Internship program is to provide gifted and highly motivated students and professionals with first-hand experience in the process of internal auditing in both an academic institution and a non-profit organization. By participating in audit assignments, volunteers and interns gain a sense of personal involvement with the internal audit departmental processes. Testimonials

I’m thankful to all of you for believing me and giving me the chance to be part of the family since March 2020, especially the Department’s Chief Sabine. Again, I’m thankful and grateful. I’ll be always proud to have an internship at Touro College & University System and I believe that what I’ve learned will serve me along my future career.

---- Kotekoro (Spring 2020- Intern)

I came into this program at the start of June without having any experience in Internal Audit. I came in with the intention to get experience and learn something that I would like to pursue in my future career. I was welcomed into this program by a very friendly staff and through all of my projects, challenges, business relationships with interns and the feedback I received, I can say that I am walking away from this internship with so much knowledge in Internal Audit.

---- Kajal (Spring 2020- Intern)

I believe what I learned in this internship can benefit me a lot in my future career. No matter if I work in the U.S. or in China, internship experience in Touro University Internal Audit will make me more competitive.

---- Shiyan (Spring 2020- Intern)

Working with you during summer definitely helped me to be more confident in myself when presenting myself in front of the professionals, Sabine. I remember when I had interview with you, you told me that I came in with no preparation, which was true since I didn't know what I was getting into. But going through that with you and you honestly telling me about those things really helped me. Opening up to you to talk about my concern was the biggest help this year. I cannot thank you enough for the lessons you taught me!

---- John (Summer 2015- Intern)

I would like to say thank you for giving me the wonderful opportunity of working with you. I enjoyed all the projects during these 13 months. Your support and understanding help me grow. I cannot pass the CPA exam without your support.

---- Cynthia (Summer 2012 - Spring 2013 Intern)

I would like to share with you about my good news: I got the full-time return offer from PwC and passed FAR this August. Thank you for all your coaching last fall. I always tell my friends, classmates and colleague in PwC how much I have learned from this internship. Not only the technical skills but also some details like one-page printing format helped me get used to my work in PwC very well! I would say that working for you is a good preparation to get into big four.

---- Belinda (Fall 2014 Intern)

Several schoolmates did consult me about my experience at Touro and I told all of them I definitely recommend the place. It’s all about real internal audit experience instead of support or administration functions!... But I am so happy to get two offers before leaving school. I think my hard work has paid off! I still remember one of the interview questions during the second-round on-site interview with E&Y. They asked about what control deficiencies we identified for the accounting policy project. Both of companies like and value my experience at Touro!
