A career educator whose teaching and administrative experience spans more than five decades, Dr. Aiello helped establish The Division of Graduate Studies Writing Center at Touro University in 2011. Prior to coming to Touro, Dr. Aiello had a 37-year career with the New York City Department of Education. He began his teaching profession as a junior high school English teacher in Brooklyn. He retired in 2003 as Director of the Office of Instructional Publications for the Division of Instruction and Support. That year, he joined Touro University as special assistant to the Dean of the Graduate School of Education and Psychology, later reorganized as the Division of Graduate Studies. His current duties at the Graduate Writing Center include overall supervision of the Center, tutoring, special projects and representing the Center on the Touro University Student Success Task Force. Dr. Aiello earned his Ph.D. from Fordham University.
