    Education

    Dr. Asner-Self earned her doctorate from The George Washington University (GWU) in 1999, and is currently licensed in the state of Illinois (LCPC). She was the recipient of the 2008 Deanna Hawes Outstanding Mentor Award (North Central ACES) and has mentored numerous junior faculty in areas including counselor education, curriculum and instruction, and higher education and administration at SIU.

    Biography

    Dr. Kimberly Asner-Self was appointed Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program Director at Touro College’s School of Health Sciences in Manhattan and is responsible for leading the Clinical Mental Health Counseling M.S. program, assisting in the recruitment of students, teaching graduate classes, conducting research published in scholarly journals, and supervising students in field placements. Previously, she served as Associate Professor at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale at the College of Education and Human Services for nearly 20 years.
