Prof. Wiederman-Francis, a speech pathology professor at LAS for 12 years who specialized in working with hearing impaired children, passed away three years ago at the age of 55. Her husband, Dr. Bruce Francis, established the scholarship in her name to support deserving students in the speech pathology program at LAS. “We’re honored to have the ability to perpetuate our mother’s legacy through Touro by awarding this meaningful scholarship,” said Jenny Rokach, Prof. Wiederman’s daughter. Ms. Rokach followed in her mother’s footsteps and is a practicing speech pathologist in Woodmere, NY. Above, Dr. Francis (center) is surrounded by his eight children and 12 grandchildren.
