Dr. Louis Primavera, Ph.D., Dean of the Touro College School of Health Sciences, has been elected to the office of First Vice President of the Advancement for Commerce, Industry, and Technology (ACIT), one of Long Island’s largest business networking organizations.

Founded 40 years ago, ACIT is represented by every type of business and service - large and small. The organization champions the contributions of business to the Long Island economy, and partners with the public and private sectors to maintain and expand Long Island’s economic vitality and educational and cultural resources.

Additionally, Dean Primavera has been elected as a fellow to Division 5 (Measurement, Evaluation, and Statistics) of the American Psychological Association (APA). He is also a fellow of the APA’s Division 1 (General Psychology). The APA is the largest scientific and professional organization representing psychology in the United States, and the largest association of psychologists in the world, with more than 137,000 researchers, educators, clinicians, consultants and students as its members. Its mission is to advance the creation, communication and application of psychological knowledge to benefit society and improve people's lives.

Dean Primavera also serves as a fellow of the American Educational Research Association and of the Eastern Psychological Association.
